Applications for Chevening Scholarships now open

The Chevening Secretariat is now accepting applications for the 2015/2016 academic cycle via the Apply page of the Chevening website. Applications will close on 15 November 2014, 23:59 GMT.
Chevening Scholarships are awarded to talented individuals with leadership potential. The scholarships offer financial support to study for a Master’s degree at one of the UK’s leading universities. They are also a great opportunity to become part of an influential network that now numbers over 43,000 alumni worldwide.
This year the programme benefits from significant investment from the UK Government to develop the next cohort of global leaders. There are approximately 1,500 Chevening Awards offered in the 2015/2016 cycle – triple the number available for 2014/2015.
Chevening Secretariat Director, Michael Scott-Kline, said:
‘I am delighted to announce the opening of the 2015/16 competition for Chevening Scholarships. With new partnership awards with Glasgow, Birmingham, Brunel, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Cardiff, Coventry, LSE, LSHTM, Southampton and Swansea Universities, as well as Surrey Business School and Schumacher College, there have never been so many awards on offer nor a better time to apply. I sincerely hope that all aspiring leaders will get online and submit an application before the 15 November deadline.’
Chevening Alumni, Nart Dohjka, from Jordan commented:
‘Being a Chevening Scholar marks a graduate out as someone with drive and ability, and also as someone who wants to contribute to the development of their country. It offers students like me a unique opportunity to gain academic experience and at the same time to broaden our global and social outlooks. Above all, it empowers us with a sense of pride and responsibility. I believe that the role of Chevening scholars is very important in building bridges between their home countries and UK universities. In short, a Chevening Scholar learns how to be an ambassador for knowledge and for leadership.’
More information about eligibility, course specifications and the application process is available on the Apply page.
